Beautiful new old stock in the desirable 21mm oire nomi from Niigata region. 21mm is quite a popular size amongst japanese wood workers. Story is these are 35-60 years old & came from a old, now defunct tool store. And are now waiting to be used. They feature beautiful old iron for the jigane (one can tel by the pattern and how wonderful it is to sharpen), a unusual & ever so delightfully rare feature in a chisel showing their age. They sharpen beautifully and take a lovely, sharp edge. Highly recommend this chisel in this wonderful, desirable size. Backs are pretty nice as well! And steel has since stabilized and age hardened.
