The greatest feature of this chisel is that it is “Sugu-tsukai” (Ready to Use). Standard Japanese chisels require the user to perform “Katsura-sage” (setting the hoop) and final sharpening before use. However, this tool has already been professionally set up and sharpened. These chisels are forged using traditional White Paper Steel No. 2″ and hardened through the classic “Pine Charcoal Quenching method. This process ensures an incredibly sharp edge and superior ease of sharpening, making them a top choice for serious woodworkers. Brand: Sea Hiro (Umihiro).
