Ancient forging makes the particles dense and sticky, less likely to chip, and longer lasting. The metal is soft and easy to whet! (With red oak handle). The handle is made of durable red oak. This is a masterpiece forged at low temperatures using traditional forging techniques and the techniques of forging, fire forging, polishing, and hardening that have been cultivated over many years. The steel used is white paper Yasugi steel, making it easy to sharpen and a chisel with good edge retention. We hand-finish only the finest quality steel with carefully selected grooves (kasugai).
