Oire Nomi (bench chisel) handcrafted by Mr. Watanabe Kiyoei, one of Japan’s most respected blacksmiths. Blade width: 42mm (1.65 inch), total length approx. This piece was made over 15 years ago, before the modern “family crest Kiyohisa” stamp era, making it a valuable early work. It features a polished finish with a triple hollow back (?) and a Tsuge (boxwood) handle with a hand-fitted black ferrule. The original Kiyohisa sticker remains on the handle, though partially faded and torn due to age. The chisel has been professionally sharpened and rust-cleaned by a tool wholesaler in Niigata Prefecture. A truly collectible and functional piece for craftsmen and enthusiasts alike.
