Ouchi Japanese Oire Nomi Chisels 9pc Set Professional Box (Missing 1pc from 10). Up for sale is a highly respected professional toolset from one of Japan’s most celebrated blacksmith lineages: a 9-piece set of Ouchi Oire Nomi (Japanese Bench Chisels). Hand-forged in Miki City using traditional “Seiko Wariuchi” (Forge-laminated high-carbon steel), Ouchi chisels are legendary among Master temple carpenters and premium furniture makers for their incredibly sticky, tough steel that holds a razor-sharp edge through the hardest of timbers. Please note: This set originally consisted of 10 pieces, but 1 chisel is missing, making this a 9-piece collection. It comes housed in its original retro retail presentation box marked “Honshokuyo” (For True Professionals). Brand / Master Blacksmith : Ouchi (Certified stamps on every blade). Chisel Type : Oire Nomi (Professional Standard Bench Chisels). Forging Method : Seiko Wariuchi (Hand-laminated premium steel). Quantity : 9 Pieces (Originally a 10pc set; 1 size is missing). Inclusions : Original Vintage Presentation Box. Country of Manufacture : Japan (Miki City). Included 9-Piece Set Layout. The set includes an excellent variety of sizes ranging from the ultra-fine detail widths up to the wide timber-framing dimensions approx. As seen in photo, the second slot from the right is currently empty. Condition Status : Pre-owned / Vintage Working Condition. Blades : The laminated steel blades show some natural aging, cosmetic oxidation, and light stains from previous use, but the structures are very solid. Handles & Hoops : The wooden handles show a beautiful weathered patina from workshop history. One of the thinner chisels (second from the right in the box) shows a distinct cosmetic scrape/chip on the wooden handle surface, which does not affect its structural usage. The metal hoops (Matsukasa) are tightly set. One of the finer width chisels is missing. Box Condition : The original cardboard display box is included. It shows vintage wear, scuffs, and fading consistent with long-term storage. We do not mark merchandise values below value or mark items as gifts.
