A new addition to my shop. Set of 3 oire nomi made by Chuutaro Imai with Nijihiro??? Made in Niigata, the blacksmith belongs to the same family name as Kunikei and Funahiro. Beautifully finished with white oak handles contrasting with blued ferrules and hoops. The blades are made of soft modern steel laminated to white steel#2, a little softer than white steel #1, therefore easier to sharpen and less brittle. A little more user friendly. By no means a toy or a DIY tool. These are made for the busy woodworker. Set up on these is minimal. I will be stocking a bigger variety of sizes and types very soon. All of my items are imported directly from Japan and sympathetically restored where needed. If you are purchasing from overseas, please ask your custom office.
